We held a community event in September 2019 in collaboration with Cedar Park Church. This event was was called Reimagine Housing in Delta: A Conversation for Change. Our president, Shirley-Ann Reid presented an innovative idea that would allow adults with disabilities to find home share placements in Delta. Specifically, she talked about renovating homes to create semi-independent living spaces rather than closed off suites.
What did people think? We heard affirmations from the leadership of Community Living BC, a developer from Admiral Operations and administrators from the City of Delta. We also collected written feedback from the attendees.
Come to our AGM to hear all about it and get a copy of our report.
This is an important topic for adults with varying abilities who need housing.
If you are a caregiver for an adult with an intellectual disability, attend our AGM to learn more. If you know a low income senior who is a renter, invite them to join us.
End the evening by enjoying some refreshments and conversation with us! Your needs matter. We want to hear your opinions. The Delta Housing Be Mine Society is networking for housing solutions in Delta.
